Sat Alert, provided by Callmonitor Limited, United Kingdom.

Who is responsible for your data
Sat Alert is provided by Callmonitor Limited to organisations — a utility, a response team, an employer with people working alone or out of reach. You do not sign up for it yourself: an organisation enrols you.
The organisation that enrols you decides what is collected and why, and is the controller of your data. Callmonitor Limited processes it on that organisation's behalf and for no other purpose.
What is collected, and why
- Your name and role, set by your organisation, so that an alert reaches the right people and everyone can see who has replied.
- An email address for administrators, used to sign in to the dashboard. People using the app on a phone do not need one and are not asked for one.
- Device data needed to deliver alerts: the push token Apple issues to the app, the app version, the kind of connection in use (wifi, cellular or satellite) and the battery level — so a control room can tell a phone that is out of touch from one that has simply gone flat.
- What you send through the service: messages, alerts, acknowledgements and read receipts.
- Drill results: whether, and how quickly, you answered a practice alert.
- Location, only as described next.
Location
Location is collected only with your permission, which you grant in iOS and can withdraw there at any time.
- Approximate location, rounded to about 1 km, is sent along with the transmissions your phone already makes, and only when your organisation has turned it on. It is set separately for normal posture and for crisis posture, so an organisation can leave it off day to day and turn it on during an incident.
- Your exact position is sent only while you have raised a panic, and stops when the panic is closed.
- Location is never collected continuously for tracking. There is no background trail, and nothing records where you go between transmissions.
- Location records are deleted after 30 days, except the first and last position of a panic, which are kept with the record of that panic.
What we do not do
- No advertising.
- No selling or sharing your data with third parties for marketing.
- No tracking you across other apps or websites.
- No analytics SDKs in the app.
Where your data is held
On servers operated for Callmonitor Limited by Railway, and — for delivery only — through Apple's push notification service, which carries the signal that tells your phone to fetch a new alert. What a message says is not put in that notification.
How long it is kept
Messages and account data are kept while your organisation's account is active, and are deleted when the organisation asks for them to be deleted. Location records follow the 30-day rule above.
Your rights
Because your organisation is the controller of your data, a request to see, correct or delete it goes to your organisation in the first instance. If you cannot reach them, or your request is about how Callmonitor Limited runs the service, use the contact below and we will pass it on.
